Web Map Services – presentation services for the Internet

With Web Map Services, cadastral surveying maps and plans can be used via the Internet.

A Web Map Service (WMS) is an interface for calling up extracts (e.g. of national maps) via the Internet. One of the main advantages of WMS is that it has such a broad distribution and is supported by the majority of widely used geographic information system (GIS) software solutions.

Thanks to these services it is possible to use cadastral surveying maps and plans via the Internet without restriction, e.g. as a background image or for a variety of illustration purposes.

There are currently three publicly available WMS options to choose from:

Title Description
GetMap GetCapabilities
CadastralWebMap Provision of cadastral survey data in reduced form

WMS-GeoMeta Status of cadastral survey
