DM.01-AV-CH – 2001 Cadastral Surveying data model
The 2001 cadastral surveying data model specifies the structure of data in order to facilitate the exchange of geographic data.
The introduction of freedom of choice of method in the area of cadastral surveying opened up the market for a broad variety of software manufacturers. In order to ensure that geodata can be readily exchanged despite the use of different software, a neutral, independent data model – DM.01-AV-CH (2001 cadastral surveying data model) – was developed and introduced.
DM.01-AV-CH uses the data modelling language INTERLIS, which permits the exchange of data between the various IT systems used in the area of cadastral surveying.
INTERLIS – the tool for describing, integrating and coordinating geographic data
The geodata modelling language, INTERLIS, was designed to enable the modelling and integration of geographic data, and thus the exchange of data between different geographic information systems. INTERLIS thus functions independently of the utilised software and IT system.
It was first released in 1991, and in 1998 it was declared an official Swiss standard and the statutory tool for exchanging cadastral surveying data. INTERLIS can also be used for exchanging and documenting geodata in other areas of activity, e.g. spatial planning or environmental protection.
