The Confederation and cantons share the costs

When it comes to the funding of the PLR cadastre, a distinction is made between the operating costs of the Cadastre and the costs of recording or updating the data that it contains. The operating costs are shared between the Confederation and the cantons.

In contrast, the costs of obtaining and updating the data are paid by the offices responsible at federal, cantonal or municipal levels.
