The cantons are charged with the jurisdiction of the tariffs for data used in cadastral surveying. The federal administration has no competence in matters pertaining to the harmonization of tariffs. In order to meet the broad public interest in tariffs and conditions for use, the cantons are encouraged to harmonize the tariffs on a voluntary basis.
A joint working group of the Conference of the Cantonal Surveying Offices and the Federal Directorate of Cadastral Surveying drew up tariff policies, a glossary, a tariff model and a first draft of the tariff ordinance. The tariff model formulated by the working group can be applied irrespective of the tariff strategy chosen by a canton.
