The 100th anniversary of the enactment of the Swiss Civil Code will be celebrated in 2012. Up until that time, cadastral surveying was a purely cantonal task. It was the Swiss Civil Code which provided the statutory basis on the federal level for the land register and cadastral surveying. Even until today cadastral surveying is perceived as the collaboration between the confederation and the cantons together with private economy.
2012: We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Cadastral Surveying!
The aims and purposes of the anniversary celebration:
- To introduce cadastral surveying to a broad public and to show the numerous applications in cadastral surveying
- To foster discussions and the exchange of opinions among experts
- The activities shall continue beyond the anniversary year and promote the image of cadastral surveying.
Beginning in December 2011 abundant information will be made available to the public.
