Cadastral Surveying: Logo

Concerning the market distortions in the domain of updating and maintenance of cadastral surveying, the competition commission states in its recommendation from 23 January 2006 that it is necessary to enforce a market-neutral appearance of the private cadastral surveyors for their activities within publicly enforced cadastral surveying.

In agreement with the Conference of the Cantonal Surveying Offices and the board of Ingenieur-Geometer Schweiz (IGS), the Federal Directorate for Cadastral Surveying developed a logo for cadastral surveying in Switzerland and a neutral template letter based on that logo.

The basis of the logo is the Swiss cross which will be instated by the entire federal administration by 1 January 2007. The logo can be used by all the agencies (Federal, cantonal, and private sector) while acting in a sovereign capacity within cadastral surveying - also in combination with a cantonal or municipal logo. Changes relating to the font or color of the logo are not permitted.
